“Don’t Maintain, Multiply”

Hey everybody! Welcome back to Morning Thrive. We’re talking about axioms for life, those short little statements that have a huge impact. So, here is another one, ”We don’t maintain, we multiply.” You could just say it personally as well, “I don’t maintain, I multiply.” What does that mean exactly? It means that I’m not just maintaining status quo, of how I always live my life. Not just droning through my life, but seeking to multiply my influence and life in other people. The Apostle Paul talked to Timothy about this in 2 Timothy 2:2. He said, “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.” In other words, he was saying, “Timothy look, don’t just maintain your own personal walk with God and be oblivious to the people around you. Invest your life. Take what you know and give it to someone else, and show them how to do the same. When you do that you will be multiplying your life.” Not too long ago I was raking acorns out of my front lawn, and there was a bazillion of them. One of them had already started sprouting roots and a little stick of a trunk was coming out of it. I pulled it out and noticed several others. I thought, “This little tree is doing its best to really multiply itself.” And, “Am I doing that?” Let me ask you, “Are you doing that? Who are you investing your life in? who are you walking with? Who are you pouring your life into?” Hey, don’t just maintain your life, multiply your influence.
