Morning Thrive - "Godly People"
Hey everybody! Welcome back to Morning Thrive! We’re talking about how to live under pressure, how to be successful under pressure. One way to live under pressure successfully is to have godly people around you. When Jesus went to the Garden of Gethsemane, He pulled people together. Matthew 26 says, and taking with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee. He began to be sorrowful and troubled, and He said to them, ‘My soul is very sorrowful, even to death. Remain here and watch with me.’ Think about it. Here’s Jesus; God in the flesh. He’s facing the most pressure He will ever face in His life, and in that moment, what did He do? He needed other people. He needed Peter, James and John, a few trusted friends. People, who had been with Him from the beginning, people who knew His heart. He needed them close to Him. If you’re under pressure at work or you’re under pressure in your life right now, and it just seems overwhelming to you. It’s giving you headaches, and you almost can’t breathe. Listen, you need godly people around you. You cannot make it through this alone. Satan wants to isolate you and just pile on and tell you that you’ll never get through it. God wants you to gather a few people, a few trusted people, who will be with you, that will pray for you and encourage you. Jesus needed it and so do you. That’s why you need a church, and if you don’t go to a church regularly, come to First Colleyville. Let’s gather together, and let’s encourage and pray for each other.
